Second Attempt at thumbnails

This will be the main layout base for my front cover. I aim here to use the title running across the page as it stand out the most and in front of the central image. the banner will also create a sense that if you want  that particular information you automatically attract to want to buy that certain genre. The masthead in the top left corner also allows it to be short and simple as you don't want it it too large covering the layout or too much information as people can forget easily. The information spreads out all over the page as the sub-headings give whats hot or not in the latest genre of music. After my first attempt, I felt as though the image was not clean enough and lacked straight lines, the second however is much more clear and much more filled than before. The main colour theme for my magazines will be yellow and blue which are very vibrant colours in which indie is based around the numerous vibrant colours.

Second Attempt

The contents page contains a bit more inside information expanding from the main headlines on the front cover. This design is very basic and again contains an image to want to expand the readers knowledge, it also keeps the masthead to remind the reader of the name. On my first attempt at the contents page, it lacked information and wasn't easy at all to read. On the other hand, the second attempt looked a much more constructive layout and was easy to follow.

The double page spread is where the main information off the sub-heading lies, the image one side and information the other creates a sense of very good organisation for the article. The headline also intrigues the reader to keep wanting to keep ahead on the news. The little image banners are linking to other similar articles. The first attempt I produced was very free hand drawn and lacked basic straight shapes, the next attempt was an improvement as I included the use of much more straight lines and a different layout to the first.

  1. I expect to see better thumbnails now Patrick, we practised a lot last week and I know you can draw far better than this.
Where did you get these ideas from? Discuss further.
    200-300 word analysis please.
